We provide food support to children and their families in our community.
We supply and distribute weekly summer food bags, provide monthly food bags throughout the school year, support the snack program at Sunapee schools, and provide emergency food drop off services to food insecure families.
Our Services
Weekly Summer Food Bags
We distribute weekly food bags to Sunapee school families in need. These bags include essential staples such as milk, eggs, bread, and cereal, along with fresh fruits, vegetables, and healthy snacks. The program is designed to supplement other food assistance programs and provide additional support to families during the summer months, when free and reduced school lunch is not available.
Year-Round Monthly Meal Kit Support
Our monthly food bag program extends the support of our summer program throughout the school year by providing families with complete meal kits to prepare healthy, fresh meals at home. In addition to monthly distributions, families also receive food bags before school breaks, helping ensure consistent access to food when it’s needed most.
Sunapee Schools Snack Program
This includes providing daily snack milk to elementary school children who qualify for free and reduced lunch; a provision the Sunapee school district is currently too small to qualify for on its own. We in addition, supply fresh, healthy snacks on a daily as-needed basis, ensuring no child goes hungry and easing the burden on teachers.
Meal Sponsorship for Field & Athletic Trips
Covering the cost of meals for qualifying students participating in out-of-town field trips and away athletic events where food stops or prepared meals are planned, so that no student ever has to miss a meal.
Emergency Food Delivery Assistance
Local families, schools, and community organizations reach out to us when they become aware of individuals or families in need of emergency food assistance. In response, we coordinate and deliver grocery and meal support directly to the family to help provide immediate relief during difficult or unexpected circumstances.
